Apple Music App: Android APK Direct Download

Long story short, music.apple.com will look very good in a web browser on Android, but (with German location anyway) it will only ever play song previews, never full songs, no matter how hard I log out and back in again.

The only download advertised on the website is the Play Store, though.

If the Google Play Store is not an option, there’s an Android .apk download offered by Apple, but filed for the lae locale, which apparently is “Latin America and the Carribean” (according to the page footer). The download page is:

https://www.apple.com/lae/apple-music/android-download/

It works flawlessly.

If you’re worried about the /lae path part: all support pages link there, e.g. the US English one: https://support.apple.com/en-us/109330, or the German translation: https://support.apple.com/de-de/109330.

No need for the Google Play Store.

I especially like how the Apple page’s action on a Desktop browser will be “Email yourself a link to the download page” – very low-tech, but cool.

(Tested on GrapheneOS, works fine.)

I found a similar help page for the Beats app, but that was it: Download the Beats app if your country, region, or device doesn’t have Google Play
